Bobby Brown is looking forward to life after Whitney Houston – though the two remain close because of their daughter, he tells PEOPLE.

“We’re trying to work everything out so the divorce goes right – not like a Hollywood divorce,” Brown said at Thursday’s annual Vanity Fair Amped concert in Hollywood. “We’re friends, you know. We’re friends.”

Brown, who is dad to Bobbi Kristina, 13, with Houston, added, “I’m really looking forward to her doing her thing, and me doing my thing. And that’s raising a child. It’s beautiful. Our child is beautiful.”

Houston filed for divorce from Brown in October after 14 years of marriage, and petitioned in December to fast-track the divorce. But the estranged couple shared a dinner together with Bobbi Kristina in West Hollywood on Feb. 11.

Seminole Police Chief Charlie Tiger said a private nurse called 911 after finding Smith unresponsive in her sixth-floor room at the hotel, which is on an Indian reservation. He said Smith’s bodyguard administered CPR, but she was declared dead at a hospital.
Through the ’90s and into the new century, Smith was famous for being famous, a pop-culture punchline because of her up-and-down weight, her Marilyn Monroe looks, her exaggerated curves, her little-girl voice, her ditzy-blonde persona, and her over-the-top revealing outfits.

An Air Force staff sergeant who posed nude for Playboy magazine has been relieved of her duties while the military investigates, officials said Thursday.

In February’s issue, hitting newsstands this week, Michelle Manhart is photographed in uniform yelling and holding weapons under the headline “Tough Love.” The following pages show her partially clothed, wearing her dog tags while working out, as well as completely nude.

“This staff sergeant’s alleged action does not meet the high standards we expect of our airmen, nor does it comply with the Air Force’s core values of integrity, service before self, and excellence in all we do,” Oscar Balladares, spokesman for Lackland Air Force Base, said in a statement.

Manhart told Playboy that she considers herself as standing up for her rights.

“Of what I did, nothing is wrong, so I didn’t anticipate anything, of course,” Manhart, 30, told The Associated Press. “I didn’t do anything wrong, so I didn’t think it would be a major issue.”

Paris is taking Vienna by storm.

Hotel heiress and celebutante Paris Hilton is on the guest list for next week’s elegant Opera Ball, the society event of the season, and her impending visit is the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons.

Hilton’s swing through town for the lavish Feb. 15 ball the hottest ticket in Vienna comes just a few weeks after she pleaded no contest to alcohol-related eckless driving, then sued to stop a Web site from peddling personal photos, videos, diaries and other items.

“This makes a farce of the Opera Ball,” sniffed Barbara Kroth, a retired real estate agent who said she always looks forward to the annual affair at the 137-year-old State Opera House “because of the quality it represents.”

Hilton is not the first celebrity whose presence at the poshest of balls has caused a stir.

Her ball date 74-year-old married construction magnate Richard Lugner, who each year invites a famous actress, musician or other personality in the past has brought “Baywatch” stars Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell.
